saw this in the newspaer a couple of weeks ago, that we do not have the whereabouts to control our enemies across the borders and their support structures that keep them alive. Clearly the US does not want us to engage least they loose their precious hold on the Afghanistan front as well as the chances of China coming in. So what do we do ? the threat from across the borders will continue to grow and with passing time the will of the government will dissapte too, strengthening the resolve of the terrorists ..well penetrated into the India fabric already...see the links with LTTE, Naxals, ULFA, with active help from the soils of Bangladesh, Burma, China and with Nepal also tilting away...whats the solution?
Their is one, its in the 1 Billion people...its in a framework, platform that I want to be building to....want your views on this first ...pls respond

Hi Sachinn,
I agree with your opinion on being a soft state. My response in two parts
1. Military Option - I did some research on what some top generals (India & US) have to say on the issue of militancy. This is considered as 4th Generattion Warfare, wherein State Army is fighting an Idealogy and not another state, since this is a relatively new concept... the best option is still being worked upon. "Hot Pursuit" which some of us want to believe as magic potion has not worked... example Israel.. 60 years after the 6 Day war... they are still unbale to "wipe -out" Hamsa and equivalents.
2. What can we do - I agree with your thoughts on creating a platform, where educated indians can debate / contribute towards a solution rather than be passive observers and continue to believe in Karmic Laws. It is time for us to start changing the system through active participation. PPP or Public Private Partnership opoortunities need to be explored and actively pursued, so our voice is heard and hopefully contibute towards a more transparent India.
A platform is long overdue...rather it should be created as we read this...
The premise is ethical, logical and inherent in our identity...but it needs to be woven into a framework that shall shed all inhibitions and dependencies...allow one to go on a purgatory exercise..
Blessed will be those who shall be able to add value.
Hi there,
some pretty strong ideas have been put forward but the reality doesn't seem to be as simple for all of us.The response was not only incredulous disbelief, angry outbursts or plain demand for cross border retaliation in the recent attacks on Mumbai but where do we stand today hardly 3 months down that day??
We are not a weak country but a passive one who believe in proaction to most of the happenings around us rather than utilising the worthiness of the 1 billion plus.atleast the population buldgeoning at all seams can have an advantage somewhere.
Comments and views are many but the need of the day is strong fearless leadership and strong antiterrorist policies for a more secure future!!!!
